5 Kids Poisoned To Death By Their Own Mum?

5 children from the same biological mother were found dead in their room this morning at Nyanyano near Kasoa, in the Central Region. she (the mother)was later found dead in a vehicle parked nearby their house.

The children (three boys and two girls), the oldest said to be 12 years old, are believed to have been poisoned by their mother, whose name was only given as Akweley.
The 31 year old mother was reported to have returned from Accra where she has been residing for some time now following separation with Christian, the father of the children.
Speaking to Akua an elder sister of Akweley, she said Akweley paid them a visit on Monday morning and insisted on taking her last born, Maame Esi, who is about six months old from her (Akua). According to Akua, the little child who had been living with her for some time now, was picked-up by a neighbor but Akweley followed up to the neighbor’s house for the child.
She further revealed that after some hours Akweley came back to inform her that she was leaving for Kasoa and will be back shortly. Little did she know that Akweley had ill-motives.
She picked up the child together with the other four siblings who were staying with their father in Accra.
Later in the evening when the children were nowhere to be found, an alarm was raised. When all attempts failed in locating their whereabouts throughout the night, the search party decided to force open the door to the children’s room. They found the five children all lying dead in the room.
Some residents say they believe she poisoned them through porridge. The mother of the children, now turned suspect, who was last seen yesterday, is said to be on the run. The bodies of the five lifeless kids have since been deposited at the Korle-Bu Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.
